Martin S.P. Nesbeth is a Certified Public Accountant (New Hampshire) with six (6) years auditing experience in both external and internal audits. During his tenure at Deloitte, Martin functioned in the capacity of Associate with responsibility for companies in the Financial, Mining, Energy, Petroleum and Retail sectors. These included companies listed on the Jamaica Stock Exchange.
In 2013, Martin was engaged by Inter-American Development Bank, Country Department of Jamaica in the capacity of the Financial Management Consultant. He had responsibility for the country office’s approx. US$700 Million portfolio (as of January 2020) including Sovereign, Sovereign Guaranteed, Policy Based Loans (PBLs), Private Sector loans and a plethora of Technical Cooperation, Grants, and Investment Grants. Martin is also an Adjunct Lecturer in Accounting and Financial Management, Corporate Finance and Financial Statement Analysis at the University of the West Indies undergraduate and postgrad programs.
Martin completed the Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and Banking and Financial Services at the University of Technology, Jamaica and his Master of Science in Accounting at the University of the West Indies, Mona. He later completed his Certified Public Accountant (CPA) courses in the United States. He was accepted by the ICAJ in October 2012 as a Chartered Accountant (Jamaica). He is the recipient of the prestigious Jamaica College, Grace Kennedy Carlton Alexander Memorial Scholarship granted to the most outstanding Jamaica College graduate pursuing tertiary education at University of Technology.
